Street Reach: Keep It Moving Collective.

This is more than a store, it’s a movement. The Keep It Moving Collective represents the journey of individuals Rebuilding their Lives Through Community, Compassion, and Recovery. Every step forward matters, and every story is still being written. When you support this collective, you are helping provide essential resources, stability, and opportunities for individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. From basic needs like showers, meals, and clothing to transportation, identification, and recovery support, your purchase directly fuels restoration. This isn’t about where someone has been. It’s about where they’re going. Wear it. Share it. Live it. Keep it moving.

Our Story

February 2019

Street Reach of Johnston County began as a ministry of Temple Dream Center, with a mission to serve and support our unsheltered neighbors. Mark and Regina Rodgers took on the role of coordinators for the centers Homeless Outreach, forging relationships and connecting individuals to available resources. However, they quickly discovered that local support was severely limited, often requiring them to transport individuals out of the county to access shelters and treatment services. Recognizing this gap, they realized the need to collaborate with other agencies and churches in the area to create the resources that didn’t yet exist.

January 2024

The White Flag Shelter opened in a local church, providing emergency shelter and deepening connections within the unhoused community.

March 2024

The Resource Center launched in a local church, offering essential services such as clothing, hygiene supplies, computer access, ID assistance, referrals, recovery meeting connections, and a shower trailer.

September 2024

Recognizing the urgent need for expanded services, Street Reach of Johnston County officially became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit , allowing us to further our mission and impact.

Street Reach envisions a community where every individual has access to the support and resources needed to live a healthy, fulfilled life, empowered by the love of Christ as they navigate the challenges of homelessness, addiction, and mental health struggles. We aim to build a future where those experiencing crisis can find hope, healing, and a pathway to recovery through faith, compassion, and a shared commitment to serve one another.”

Our Commitment

Homelessness is often intertwined with challenges like addiction, mental illness, incarceration, trauma, and poverty. At Street Reach, we work to identify gaps in available services and collaborate with local churches, agencies, and community members to fill those needs. Through compassion, advocacy, and direct support, we strive to bring hope and lasting change to the lives of those we serve.

Our Mission

Street Reach is dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness in Selma, Smithfield, and surrounding areas. Our work is centered on four key pillars:

  • Homeless Resources – Providing tangible support such as clothing, hygiene items, referrals, and shelter access.

  • Awareness – Shedding light on the realities of homelessness in our community.

  • Community Education – Engaging and informing the public about the root causes and solutions to homelessness.

  • Hope – Building relationships and fostering a pathway toward stability and recovery.
